For the flooring project at the Orto Redentore on the Island of Giudecca, the client chose the Deco Nuvolato floor with bronze-coloured flames, in perfect harmony with the philological restoration of the ancient structures.
The Orto Giardino of the Convent of the Church of the Santissimo Redentore, which reopened to the public in 2024, is an emblematic example of the revival of Venice’s historical and cultural heritage.
The restoration of the garden and its historic workshops, entrusted to the Venice Gardens Foundation, fully respected the authenticity of the site, preserving evidence of its centuries-old history.
Its origins date back to the 16th century, when the Orto Giardino was conceived to meet the needs of the Capuchin friars while also serving as a place of worship and spiritual reflection.
The recovery intervention has integrated this long historical tradition with the use of modern materials and advanced technologies, as well as with the use of versatile construction solutions and at the same time aesthetically consistent with the surrounding architecture.
The choice of bronze for the colour of the floor recalls the warm shades of the Lagoon and the surrounding structures, emphasising the link between nature and architecture that characterises the entire complex.
