Filtene Isoplam is a closed-cell expanded polyethylene cord, compressible and available in various diameters, designed for creating the joint backing in expansion joints. It is used in industrial and stamped concrete flooring, between prefabricated elements, in perimeter joints around window and door frames and, more generally, in all joints between different structural elements that require proper movement control.

Installation is carried out using the Isoplam Filtene installation roller, which allows the cord to be positioned inside the cut at the predetermined depth. Once installed, Filtene defines the correct joint geometry before sealing with Plam Sigil Isoplam silicone sealant, ensuring optimal elastic performance of the system.

The Isoplam joint backing rod helps to reduce expansion stresses on the sealant and joint walls; correctly determine the depth according to the type of silicone used; promote sealant adhesion exclusively to the joint walls, preventing unwanted adhesion to the bottom; and reduce silicone consumption, preventing waste and ensuring an efficient and durable seal.
