DaV Pastry Lab – Albano Sant’Alessandro (BG) Italy

Pavilux accompanies the outdoor spaces of the new DaV Pastry Lab production centre, where functionality and architectural research transform a former industrial building into a project with a strong identity.

DaV’s Pastry Lab of Da Vittorio was born in Albano Sant’Alessandro, in the province of Bergamo, from the conversion of a warehouse in the 90s. The Arpostudio project transforms the existing structure into a modern laboratory dedicated to food production, flanked by a space for the direct sale of the group’s creations.

Elemento distintivo dell’architettura è la grande facciata curva che avvolge l’edificio. Il suo disegno trae ispirazione dal processo di lievitazione dell’impasto, interpretato come un movimento ascensionale: circa 3.500 scaglie metalliche attraversano sette differenti tonalità, progressivamente più chiare verso l’alto, conferendo dinamismo e riconoscibilità all’edificio.  

In the outdoor spaces, the Pavilux Isoplam flooring accompanies the access and the areas surrounding the complex, fitting into the essential language of architecture. The cement surface creates a material and uniform backdrop that leaves the particular facade the role of protagonist and contributes to relating the building, paths and open spaces.

In a complex that brings together production, logistics and direct sales, the design of the exteriors requires surfaces suitable for frequent use and capable of maintaining functionality and aesthetic quality over time. Pavilux responds to these needs with a cement flooring resistant to wear and stress, particularly suitable for commercial, productive spaces and areas subject to heavy traffic.

The flooring thus becomes part of the architectural project: a continuous surface in the image, essential and functional, capable of accompanying external flows without competing with the strong character of the envelope. A solution that combines performance and design freedom in a building in which even the most functional elements contribute to the definition of the overall identity.
